Eduardo Arias, who has led unosquare’s financial operations for several years, becomes Chief Administrative Officer, leading legal, accounting and operational management across the company’s current and future jurisdictions.
PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 5, 2026. Digital engineering company unosquare today announced the appointment of Peter Carlson as Chief Financial Officer. Carlson will lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic financial management. Eduardo Arias, who has led the company’s financial operations for several years, becomes Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), responsible for legal, accounting and operational management in every jurisdiction where unosquare operates today and in those it enters next.
The change gives each side of the finance function a dedicated leader. Carlson takes on planning, capital strategy and acquisitions. Arias continues to lead the work that keeps the company compliant and running well in every country where it operates, work that becomes more important as unosquare builds a globally integrated network of delivery centers.
“My job has been to make sure unosquare’s financial practice could support the company we wanted to become,” said Arias. “The next stage is about operating as one company in different geographies. Having legal, accounting and operations compliance in every jurisdiction lets our teams focus on clients. Finally, I’m very excited to have Peter as part of our team and apply all his knowledge to the benefit of the company.”
“Eduardo built the financial practice that carried us to where we are today, and his role matters even more as we operate as one company across more countries,” said Giancarlo Di Vece, CEO of unosquare. “Peter adds deep experience in planning, capital strategy and acquisitions at private equity-backed IT services companies. With both of them in place, we are better prepared to deliver on our 2030 vision.”
Carlson brings more than two decades of financial leadership at private equity-backed and global IT services organizations, with a focus on operational excellence, M&A and divestitures, and modernizing enterprise data and forecasting. Most recently he was CFO and VP of Financial Planning & Analysis at DMI, where he led major capital restructurings, global integrations and data transformation projects. Before that, he spent more than a decade in financial leadership roles at CSC / DXC Technology across corporate FP&A, global consulting and emerging technology business units. He holds an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and a B.A. with Honors in Economics and Computer Science from Lafayette College.
“What drew me to unosquare is its exceptional track record of steady growth powered by real delivery and client trust,” said Carlson. “As we enter this next phase, my focus is on pairing that operational momentum with the strategic discipline, systems, and capital strategy needed to scale—whether that’s investing in our organic capabilities or pursuing strategic acquisitions that expand our reach.”
Why the role matters for unosquare 2030
In 2025, the company laid out unosquare 2030, its plan for the rest of the decade. Growth through partnerships and acquisitions is central to it:
- The company holds official partnerships with Microsoft, Databricks, Anthropic and OpenAI, and is building its data, AI, cloud and design capabilities around them to support clients at every step of their technology roadmaps.
- The plan calls for continuing to acquire companies that share its values and expand what it can deliver, building on the Catalyst UX and Airship acquisitions in 2022.
- Clients are buying measurable business results, and more of that delivery runs on proprietary agentic AI tools the company is developing.
- The company is deepening its work in healthcare, financial services and higher education.
Each of these needs capital planning and deal discipline. Carlson’s FP&A and M&A experience gives the company the finance leadership to invest in partner capabilities as they grow, assess acquisition targets and integrate the companies it brings in. Arias’s work as CAO lets new teams and new countries join one company under consistent legal, accounting and operational controls.
The company expects AI to increase demand for custom software, not reduce it. Work that once took months can now ship in weeks, and the cost of building, long the real barrier, has fallen. That makes owned, custom-built software practical for companies that used to rent it: scoped before work begins, delivered for a fixed fee, with the client owning the code, the data and the roadmap, and success measured by business value rather than billable hours.
