I’m incredibly proud that Unosquare made the 2019 Inc. 5000 – the list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. But even more significant is that it’s our fifth year in a row to achieve this status. Since it started in 1982, only four percent of companies have made the list five times. Additionally, this year, Unosquare celebrated its 10th birthday, which adds another layer of context to this honor: our first five years set the foundation for us to grow at an astonishing rate.
Over the years, companies like Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Yelp, Zillow, and LinkedIn have made the list. It’s hard to imagine these titans of industry as independent small businesses, but it’s true, and they got early exposure by making the Inc. 5000. An even smaller subset that includes companies like Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Chobani, Oracle and Patagonia have made the list five times. We are in elite company.
Inclusion on the list is based on growth over a three-year period – from 2015 to 2018. This year, honorees achieved particularly staggering growth compared to previous years achieving a three-year average of 454 percent. It’s that figure and what it represents that makes this honor important for me, for our employees and for our clients – being named to this list is based on revenue. Consistent revenue growth from year to year means that the combination of our people, our process and our locations is strong and designed for success.
This achievement would not be possible without our employees. It’s as simple as that. Without the highly talented engineers and the exceptional finance, client success, delivery management and operations professionals we have working on projects across the globe, we wouldn’t be able sustain this level of growth and maintain our commitment to be an enduring business with deep roots in every community we have operations. We believe that talent is universal but opportunity is not and we want to bring opportunities to people and improve the communities where we live in a respectful and sustainable way.
From the start, Unosquare never took outside investment. Our founders had an idea and used a bootstrap model to achieve stability and maintain ownership. We aren’t beholden to anyone but ourselves and the commitments we’ve made to our employees and our shared communities. This honor reinforces the strength of those promises today and for years to come.
