From Devices to Data Insights; Digital Health Aggregation for Humana
18 weeks validating a connected care app.
Results
Delivered a 45-screen iPad application in just 18 weeks with a $200K budget.
Integrated multiple Bluetooth devices for seamless self-monitoring.
Enabled consistent data collection for research on device usage and patient behavior.
Supported low-income, low-technology patients with a simple, accessible solution.
Highlights / Intro
Conviva Health, a subsidiary of Humana, launched a research initiative to simplify how patients track their health. The aim: integrate data from multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices into a single mobile app that patients could use daily, while feeding accurate insights back to Conviva’s research teams.
Challenge
Conviva needed to:
Consolidate data from different devices into one unified app.
Build a platform simple enough for low-tech users, but robust enough for research.
Ensure that collected data remained consistent and reliable across patient populations.
Solution
unosquare delivered a connected care MVP tailored for research and real-world use:
Designed and developed a 45-screen consumer mobile app (iPad-focused) in under 18 weeks.
Integrated Bluetooth device inputs into a single monitoring hub for patients.
Built backend workflows and Power BI integration to support Conviva’s research teams.
Ensured accessibility and usability for patients with limited technology experience.
This delivery was strengthened by contributions from our Centers of Excellence.
The Data COE structured device inputs into clean, research-ready datasets, while the Product Engineering COE, integrating design and strategy, simplified complex monitoring into an intuitive patient interface and ensured alignment with research and adoption goals. The QA COE validated Bluetooth integrations and data flows to guarantee reliability across every connection.
When patient care depends on connected data, we make it clear, consistent, and usable.
